Biographical Information
Name: Ellis Wetherald
Character journal name: errant_son
Your photo-credit/PB: Greg Wise
Age: 27
Nationality: British
Allegiance and why: To himself
Social Status and/or Occupation: Of the upper classes. Lives of his family’s fortune
Brief physical description of your character: Ellis is tall, handsome enough, with dark hair and eyes, and chiselled features; a strong jaw which gives him an air of pride.
Brief description of your characters history, including family:
Ellis is the second son of a wealthy, politically-minded family. His elder brother, Benedict (32) is the current Earl of Banbury, and an MP. He has two younger sisters, Flounce (25) and Annabel (16). His widowed mother, Mrs Amanda Wetherald (54) remains at the family home.

Ellis had always been wilful, and charming. At the age of 18 he began drinking and gambling, losing large amounts which is brother, only recently having become Earl after their father’s death, was forced to pay in Ellis’s stead. Their mother, still surviving, was willing to forgive his early mistakes, had demanded that Ellis’s siblings do the same. Ellis was sent to University to study Theology, although he did little studying and to stop wagging tongues, Ellis had his degree purchased by his family. That was the last tolerable indiscretions, and the next (which concerned Florence’s personal maid and a single night of passion) ensured that his family never saw him the same way again.
Ellis was sent away to Europe even before the child was born, with only Annabel still on side. Only 12 at the time, no-one in the family seemed to think Bella was old enough to be told the truth, and she believed that Ellis, the only ‘fun’ member of her otherwise serious family, was being forced out as the black-sheep. In order to keep her favour, Ellis ensured he wrote to her often, as well as send her fashionable gifts.

Ellis was given a more than an ample amount of money, on top of a monthly allowance, and lived very comfortably in Europe, spending most of his four-years in Venice, enjoying the Bohemian and Libertine lifestyles. He has continued his habits of womanising, drinking and gambling, and now has added smoking opium and writing poetry, although he retains his political leanings in support of the wealthy.
After four years he ran out of money, and various misadventures in Venice and the other famous haunts of Europe saw him returning to England. He claims he has spent the last few years on a ‘cultural tour’ of Europe, not uncommon for well-educated young men. He is determined to make his family as uncomfortable as possible until they cough up more money for his next cultural tour, and in the meantime he plans to have as much fun as possible.

One or two plots which you would like to play out in the community: Meeting and wooing as many young fashionable ladies as possible, without them finding out about each other!
Are there any other characters you would like to see in the game? For instance, family, friends of your character?: All of his family, some friends from Venice and previously, and also some lady friends!
